Meet James
A RSSW and Wellness Coach
JamesSSWerk is a space where I share reflections on social work, Indigenous identity, queer experiences, mental health, and personal growth.
I am an Ojibwe Registered Social Service Worker (RSSW) and Bachelor of Social Work student based in Toronto. Through my professional training, lived experience, and ongoing learning, I am passionate about creating meaningful conversations around healing, community, identity, and social justice.
I am especially committed to supporting Indigenous and 2SLGBTQIA+ communities and creating spaces that are authentic, inclusive, and grounded in respect.
This platform currently serves as a space for education, reflection, and connection while I continue to grow my professional practice.

My Vision
I created JamesSSWerk as a space to explore identity, community, and growth through an Indigenous and queer lens. My goal is to share what I am learning through social work, lived experience, and personal reflection while creating opportunities for meaningful conversations. I hope this platform encourages people to feel more connected to themselves, their communities, and the stories that shape who they are.

My Approach
I believe every person brings their own experiences, strengths, and knowledge. My approach is grounded in respect, curiosity, cultural humility, and meeting people where they are. Whether through social work, coaching, advocacy, or community engagement, I value authentic relationships, lifelong learning, and creating spaces where people feel heard and supported.
